Job Overview
WhippleTree Bakery Inc. is a small-batch artisan bakery in James Bay, Victoria, specializing in naturally leavened sourdoughs, fresh-milled grain breads, and rustic European-style loaves. We are expanding our production team and looking for a passionate Bread & Sourdough Baker who loves the craft of baking and producing high-quality breads.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a bakery setting and takes pride in dough development, fermentation, and consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Mix, ferment, shape, and bake a variety of breads including sourdoughs and focaccia
- Control fermentation timing, temperature, and hydration to maintain dough quality
- Safely operate mixers, ovens, and proofing equipment
- Weigh and prepare ingredients as per recipes and production plans
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and food-safe
- Contribute creative ideas for new and seasonal products
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of professional bakery experience (sourdough experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of fermentation, shaping, and baking principles
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs)
- Reliable, punctual, and attentive to detail
- Available for early morning or overnight shifts
