Job Overview
Frobisher Inn is seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef / Baker to join its culinary team in Iqaluit. This role is ideal for someone passionate about baking and pastry arts, with the ability to contribute to both dessert production and general kitchen operations.
You will prepare high-quality baked goods and seasonal desserts while supporting the kitchen during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake pastries, breads, and desserts for daily service
- Develop seasonal items in collaboration with the Executive Chef
- Assist with general kitchen prep as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
- Store and rotate ingredients properly
- Support kitchen operations during peak periods
- Contribute to menu planning and presentation
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a pastry chef, baker, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques and kitchen safety
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Culinary certification or equivalent experience preferred
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
